Cold and compression in one portable system

Aquilo circulates ice-cold water around the muscle inside a compression sleeve, with no immersion and no wet clothes. The result is a targeted, controlled "ice bath" you can take to the locker room, the pitch or the clinic.

The system is modular: a control unit with pump, compression and battery, plus sleeves for the legs, knee, elbow, ankle, shoulder and arm. Sausport helps you choose the right set-up for your club, clinic or gym.

Customer benefits: the problems it solves

Each benefit answers a real situation faced by clubs, athletes and clinics.

Pain and fatigue after training or a match

Cold and compression together help reduce muscle soreness and the heavy-legs feeling, so the athlete arrives at the next session in better shape.

Little time between sessions or matches

A typical session lasts about 30 minutes and can be adjusted. With its internal battery, the unit can be used without a power socket.

No ice bath in the locker room, or lots of travel

The system fits in its carry case. Fill it with ice and water, connect the sleeves and you are ready at home, at the ground or at a training camp.

Swelling and pain in a joint

There are sleeves for knee and elbow, ankle and shoulder, arm and leg. Treat only the area that needs it, with cold, compression or both.

Several athletes or patients to treat

The unit works with one or two limbs and, on the water circuit, up to two people at once, which helps organise the routine of a squad or a clinic.

Trouble sleeping because of pain

In the brand’s reference study, the group that used the system reported better sleep quality over the 48 hours after exercise.

How it works in 4 steps

  1. Fill the unit with ice and water
  2. Fit the sleeve on the area to treat
  3. Choose cold, compression or both, and the time
  4. Relax for about 30 minutes

What the brand’s study says

Aquilo relies on a study carried out with the Ohio State University neuroscience lab and published in the Journal of Sports Science and Medicine in 2017. Two groups of athletes did a demanding lower-body workout; one recovered with the Aquilo system and the other simply rested, and both were monitored for 48 hours.

According to the brand, the Aquilo group had about 40% lower creatine kinase (CK, a marker of muscle damage), less pain, better sleep and higher countermovement jump power. It is a single-protocol study in trained athletes and does not replace individual clinical assessment.

Guide: athlete recovery with Aquilo

Training well means recovering well. This guide covers six common athlete problems and shows, with simple examples, how Aquilo cold compression therapy can help, when to use it and how often.
