Ultrasound-guided percutaneous electrolysis device Gymna Acure
Ultrasound-guided galvanic electrolysis
Ultrasound-guided galvanic electrolysis (USGET, Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy) is a technique used in chronically affected tissue. A galvanic current passes through an acupuncture needle and produces a controlled inflammatory reaction in the tissue, which triggers biological processes that generate new collagen fibres.
The technique is used in chronic-phase tendons, long-standing muscle injuries, myofascial pain syndrome and trigger points. It must be applied by trained professionals and under ultrasound guidance.

Gymna Acure electrolysis devices

Gymna Acure 250 and Acure 8000
Mid-level galvanic electrolysis, with two intensity levels
The Acure 250 reaches 2500 µA and is intended for physiotherapists. The Acure 8000 reaches 8000 µA and is intended for physicians, because high intensities may require anaesthetic. Both have a patient database with treatment history and result charts.
- 7-inch colour touchscreen and intuitive interface
- Ergonomic handheld applicator with LED status ring and start/stop and intensity buttons
- Safe needle insertion mechanism; connector with µA lock function
- Wired remote control
- Multi-sequence treatments
- Smart battery management and USB port for software updates

Which conditions it is used for
Usual indications of electrolysis, according to Gymna
List of areas and conditions where the technique is currently applied:
- Tendon: lateral and medial elbow, quadriceps, hamstring, patellar, Achilles and rotator cuff tendinopathies
- Muscle: quadriceps, hamstrings, neck and shoulder muscles, soleus and gastrocnemius; trigger points of myofascial conditions
- Bursa: shoulder and retrocalcaneal bursitis
- Ligaments: lateral knee ligament and lateral foot and ankle ligaments
- Other: Baker's cyst, Haglund's syndrome, plantar fasciitis
"What we want is to obtain a biological change in the treated tissue, so that it becomes healthy and matures over time and through exercise."

Frequently asked questions
What is ultrasound-guided galvanic electrolysis used for?
It is used in chronic-phase tendons, long-standing muscle injuries, myofascial pain syndrome and trigger points, always by trained professionals and under ultrasound guidance.
How much does an ultrasound-guided electrolysis device cost?
The price depends on the model (Acure 250 or Acure 8000) and the accessories. Request a quote and we will send a proposal.
What is USGET?
Ultrasound-guided Galvanic Electrolysis Therapy: application of galvanic current through a needle, under ultrasound guidance, in chronically affected tissue.
What is the difference between the Acure 250 and the Acure 8000?
The maximum intensity. The Acure 250 reaches 2500 µA and is intended for physiotherapists; the Acure 8000 reaches 8000 µA and is intended for physicians, as high intensities may require anaesthetic.
Do I need an ultrasound scanner?
The technique must be applied under ultrasound guidance and by trained professionals.
Is training available?
Sausport has a training academy (SKY). Talk to the team to find out what is available.
